This little file is a very partial listing of the dramatis personae
appearing in the Mahabharata. I have included a literal translation of these names, as well as a few family trees. These may help in your reading of this massive and often bewildering but ultimately valuable text.
This article is a very important one to read and become familiar with, as it outlines and illustrates my approach to translating Sanskrit. It will help you understand the layout of the original verses and my system of footnotes. Don't leave here without it.
